Reachout, Partners Power Female Community Peace Mediators

  By NBB In Limbe A three-day workshop to transform women to peace mediators has taken place in Limbe, with main objective to promote a culture of sustainable peace in the South West Region of Cameroon. Based on the theme - Reflection forum for community women peace mediators (COWOPEM), the workshop which opened Wednesday, April 14, 2021 focused on developing a coordination mechanism and advocacy strategy for sustainable peace in the region and beyond. The 30 women were brought together to reflect on how they can contribute within their communities in de-escalating tensions, formalise their group as peace mediators as well as engage mental wellness activities to keep them sound in mind and body. Able Women Cameroon Civil Society Organization was celebrating her maiden batch of laureates for bronze and silver medals of the Duke Of Edinburgh International Awards (DofE) from the JCIM unit of the Father’s House Assembly, Busumbu-Limbe. DofE is a voluntary leadership development and Empowerment program for young people aged 14-25 under the Engaged Youth Corner Program (EYCPs) within Able Women’s Youth Empowerment Programs.   By Tarhyang Enowbikah Tabe With Reports Leading health Civil Society Organization, Value Health Africa has taken steps to dispel worries and misinformation linked to the COVID-19 Vaccine which is making rounds at the entry ports of many countries in the world and Africa in Particular. According to Mercy Kyeng of Value Health Africa, the arrival of COVID-19 vaccine in some African countries was received with mixed feelings increasing tensions and assault on health care workers. Couple Gives Back To Community At Anniversary

They are calling on the population especially IDPs to come and be part of the groundbreaking event which will be spiced with free medical and specialists’ consultations. The Couple is offering free surgery, free eye care, free dental care and distribution of assorted drugs to the population especially internally Displaced Persons. According to a release from the couple, the medical phase of the celebration shall take place on Saturday the 24 of April at the Catholic School New Town, Limbe premises. Medical Doctors and health care providers, The Advocate is informed, will be arriving Limbe very early on Saturday to begin with the business of the day as early as 8 am.
