House Of Talents Exclusive Slams Buea Big Time

For over three days, the city of Buea has witnessed what has been described as one in a kind of festivals as far as arts and culture is concerned.
The third edition of International Festival SLAMeroun Festival took place in Buea from 24th to 26th June at the French Cultural Centre in Buea.
The
event was managed by leading event management firm in Cameroon, House of Talent
Exclusive.
According
to House Of Talent Exclusive CEO, Elsie Foletia, it was a 3- day event that was
done in collaboration with Grand Slam National Association.
Elise Foletia, told The Advocate that, the purpose of the event was to identify how the crisis has
affected the artists and what can be done to stabilize them, enable participants
to express themselves freely through Slam Poetry and educating the slammers on
stage presentation.
Activities
included panel discussions With the Regional Delegate of Arts and Culture for
the Southwest Region, Internationally acclaimed artists Max Sako Lyonga, Professor
Nkwi Walter and Mac Alunge.
The participants were also given the opportunity to do spontaneous Slam with a series of training sessions on Slam stage presentation coordinated by the National Grand Slam team.
According
to the Grand Slam National Board President Baana Enono Arnaud, the festival is
the biggest international Slam event in Cameroon.
"SLAMeroun" is a combination of the
word Slam and Cameroon, this initiative facilitates artistic exchanges between
slammers from elsewhere and those from Cameroon.
.”The second edition took place last year from September 24 to 27, 2020 with several Cameroonian and foreign artists.
Activities such as Writing Workshops, Exchange Panels, National Slam Poetry Contest and Concerts were part of last year’s event.” Baana Enono Arnaud explained.
