Muea Prince Flees From Double Trouble

 By Amos Njoh

One of the Princes of the Muea Kingdom, in Buea Subdivisions of the troubled Southwest Region of Cameroon is said to be on the run.

The Prince whose name we got as Yannick Junior Molinge is said to have arrived Cameroon from Germany where he is a student.

News of his arrival spread like wildfire attracting the concerns of separatist fighters who have a strong base in the locality.

Barely a few days upon his arrival, we are told Yannick started receiving calls from the fighters to support them financially else they would kidnap and kill him.

For fear of being accused of aiding terrorism, he refused to support these boys in the bushes.

Knowing that he is from a royal family and that any pressure will definitely pay off, he was kidnapped by the boys and his face tied throughout the journey to their camp.

While in their camp, he was forced to call his family to rescue him by paying an undisclosed amount of money.

Yannick was released by the boys on conditions that he must continue to support them else he would be kidnapped again and made a permanent prisoner of war for them.

When news of his release got to town, security operatives started looking for him with the intention of him taking them to the hide out of the Separatist Fighters.

After explaining that his eyes were tied to and from the camp of the separatist fighters, they didn’t believe him as a date was set for him to take them to the hide out.

We gather that since his last confrontation with security officers, Yannick is nowhere to be found around Muea and its environs.

The scare was even loudest when separatist fighters came out on Thursday 8 September in Muea, killing five persons in a taxi before setting the taxi ablaze.

Since the start of August, Muea and its environs has been in a stalemate as schools remain closed, work grounded and there has been random hits and run, killings and kidnappings by separatist fighters for ransom.

Last Friday, a young man residing in Muea whose name we got as Kum Louis and one other were brutally shot and killed by separatist fighters for no clear reasons.

This has increased the risk and uncertainty about the next actions and victims of the separatist fighters in this area.

Muea, Ekona, Muyuka, right up to Kumba is a deadly stretch of road as far as the Fighting in the SW Region of Cameroon is concerned.

It has produces some of the most dreaded pseudo generals and witnessed some of the worst atrocities since the clashes started in 2016.

The Government of Cameroon through the follow up committee of the Major National Dialogue to end the crisis says it is getting better, rather reports and facts on the ground doesn’t say so.
