The Meveo
Cultural and Development Assembly has on Friday the 29th of January 2021 handed
Certificates of Participation to Participants of the MEVCUDA Capacity Building
workshop that took place on Friday the 15th of December 2020. The event was
held at the Limbe I
Chief Ndiko
Fonderson Henry who is the Chairman of MEVCUDA said MEVCUDA is a platform put
in place by the Meveo Chiefdom to assemble and help government agencies and Para
state corporations to display their opportunities and to reach out to the grass
roots and potential beneficiaries within the frame work of their programs,
projects and social responsibilities.
This can be confirmed by the special support
program instituted by MINDER since MEVCUDA 2017 where by farmers of Fako
Division and to an extent the South West Region have been benefiting from
MINADER to boost their production.
Furthermore,
he said his congratulations also go to participants of the MEVCUDA Solidarity Football Encounter.
We are very
confident that the participants and spectators of the said encounter would have
wished to that the encounter which only involved 4 teams be transformed to at
least 12.
It’s our
wish that somebody in this gathering can convince someone somewhere to provide
100% sponsorship for a full tournament by the next edition of MEVCUDA 2021.
On her part,
the Mayor of Limbe I, Mbwaye Eposi, said agriculture is the backbone of the economy
of any given country. It plays a very
critical role in the entire life of the given economy.
On behalf of the population of the Limbe I Sub-Division, she sincerely
thanked and appreciate MEVCUDA
and its donors for such a
wonderful initiative gear towards promoting agriculture
in the Limbe I municipality through
the organizing of the
capacity workshop and donation of farm
equipments to beneficiary farmers.
She prayed
that the gesture continues to foster development in the town and she urged all
the participants of the event to ensure and make good use of the knowledge
acquired and the farm equipments because this will help go a long way to
alleviate poverty.
The
representative of the DO for Limbe I said those
who participated during the capacity
building workshop were given seeds to be
planted and that he wants to believe that very soon fruits will be harvested
from those seeds, meaning they shall
come back to develop the Meveo village.
Also to
farmers who will be receiving tools and materials, the DO said they are encouraged
to use them well. He concluded calling
on other Chiefs to emulate the same steps.
In an interview with the press, the Chairman of MEVCUDA Chief Fonderson made it clear that, what they were doing was to assure their donors that the end users have finally gotten their equipment.
It is also
very important to note that during the Capacity Building workshop which was organized
on the 17th of December 2020, the participants gained some knowledge which was
substantial enough to merit a certificate of participation. And that is why
they want to thank their donors.
He went
further to say MEVCUDA is a platform put in place to facilitate government agencies
to expose their opportunities.
