CHAMEG Begins Another IDPs Empowerment Project

Leading women empowerment Think Thank, Changing Mentalities, Empowering Groups, CHAMEG, has launched yet another project to empower internally displaced women and young girls.

According to the Executive Director of CHAMEG, HRH Doctor Meg Agbor, for the next 7 months CHAMEG will be identifying and providing Psychosocial support, Mental health and Family planning services,COVID-19 and Economic strengthening of 150 IDPs and vulnerable Persons in the Buea and Limbe communities.

The activities it should be noted kicked off with the training of 25 IDPs in Rural Tole community on the production of Medicated and Liquid Soap.

“Our goal is to impact these IDPs with the necessary skills and engage them in income generating trades for better livelihoods.” Meg Agbor told The Advocate

On the second day of the empowerment program, there were a series of skills training workshop, where the IDPs were making their mark.

They produced medicated soap of various colors, and started bottling the liquid soap they produced on day one.

According to Meg Agbor, CHAMEG is so proud of the beneficiaries since a change of mindset is the beginning of opening up for bigger opportunities for a better life and improved mental health.
