He was elected last Sunday in a heated election of the union that took place at a Douala based hotel during the Elective General Assembly of the union. He carried the day after getting the majority of the over 600 members who turned out to vote. The Union it should be noted boosts of over 800 members, being lawyers with less than 15 years in the legal practice. Before the elections, Barrister Nkongho Agbor told Young Layers in Cameroon that, the creation of an office space for the union was vital. “An office space is a very vital part of the development of Young Lawyers. By Tarhyang Enowbikah Tabe There had been jubilation and merrymaking at the Roman Catholic Church Premises in Mamfe and Nchang Village following the appearance of a car that afternoon with 9 Church members  kidnapped by alleged separatist fighters.  The Four Priests, a cook, a little girl, a Nun, and an assistant Catechist kidnapped at the St Mary Catholic Church in Nchang Village in the Manyu Division were freed on October 23 by their kidnappers. An insider said they were taken by the kidnappers to an area around Akwaya before their release.  It is believed that the pictures that went in circulation were taken at a location in Nigeria - Ikom, that shares a common boundary with Akwaya in the Manyu Division.   By Ruth Samba While sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV) can affect anyone be they male or female, it differs in each system where there is no institutional oppression involved and where they are not reported. SGBV which is the most pervasive human rights violation, is not inevitable and must be prevented at all levels even amongst intimate sexual partners. When the entire social structure is designed to reinforce the idea that women most especially are second class citizens, it creates a communal disregard for the exploitation of women. Their perpetrators are usually intimate sexual partners, family members, neighbors or strangers. The Hope for a Better Tomorrow (HOBET) foundation has chosen the media - friendly approach to put an end to SGBV.
