Train Up A Child Takes Lead In Bonadikombo Anti COVID-19 Campaign

Limb based civil society organization, Train Up A Child, TUAC, on Saturday April 25 lead a community campaign against the spread of the deadly COVID-19 Pandemic in Bonadikombo.

The campaign that saw sensitization and installation of hand washing points as well as distribution of soap and hand sanitizers was accompanied by the Chief of Bonadikombo, HRH Esombe David Nanyowe and the Divisional Officer of Limbe I, Acha Gilbert Nkwenti.

Speaking to The Advocate, Agwenjang Emmanuel, Founder and Promoter of Train Up A Child, said, his association thought it was imperative to engage in such a project which is their own little way to join efforts with the World Health Organization and the state of Cameroon to kick COVID-19 out of Cameroon in general and the Bonadikombo Community in particular.

The sensitization campaign was carried out at the Mile Market Junction and the Mile 4 Motor Park.

The traditional ruler of  Bonadikombo, took turns at each of the stops to call on the inhabitants respect basic rules put in place by the state in this period, to make maximum use of basic hygiene, avoid handshakes, stay at home, use face masks in case of emergency necessitating going out of the house.

HRH  Esombe David Nanyowe challenged his Chiefdom to should put political differences aside, forget tribal differences and shelve every difference aside and put heads together and fight this common enemy which is the disease troubling Cameroon.

On his part, the Divisional Officer for Limbe I Subdivision Acha Gilbert Nkwenti explained his presence at the event in the following words “ I'm here to let the population of Limbe I Subdivision know that the COVID-19 is real, but they can help us stop the spread of the virus."

Mr. DO appealed on the people of Limbe I Subdivision and Bonadikombo, Mile 4 in particular to continue with the preventive measures before they step out, and make sure that they have their face masks on them, wash their hands frequently with running water and soap or hand sanitizers and respect the 20 measures that has been laid down by the government.

Acha Gilbert Nkwenti frowned at the recalcitrant individuals who are not respecting the 20 measures to fight against the deadly pandemic, that heavy fines await them. He however revealed that over 90% are however respecting the decision.
Meanwhile, the Spokesperson for Bonadikombo Youth group Alouse Awa told the Press that he was elated that his community has also put a hand on the plough to halt the spread of the Virus

At the end of the exercise, the visibly satisfied Agwenjang Emmanuel, Founder and Promoter of Train Up A Child said it was a worthy exercise with the hope of engaging many more communities incase the wahala of the pandemic continues to trouble mankind.

He thanked the Chief of Mile 4, Bonadikombo and other partners who made sure the project was a success.
