SW First Cement Factory, Mboka Premium In The Offing

The
Population of the South West Region will soon smile with the advent of a Modern
Cement Grinding Plant in Ombe, with a capacity of 600.000 tons.
This idea
of the plant which will be the first in the South West Region, and the first
Cameroonian majority owned Company Cement Plant in Cameroon was revealed to
some Journalists from different Media Outlets during a Press briefing which
held on Wednesday, the 20 October, 2021, in the Conference Room of Mboka
Industrial Services PLC at Mile 2, Limbe.
Speaking
during the Press Briefing, The General Manager of Mboka Cement, Dr. Mukete
Beyongo Dynamic, disclosed that the Cement Plant will be built by a German
Company, Gebr Pfeiffer which has over 160 years experience in engineering,
designing and building Cement Grinding Plants.
He
mentioned that the aim of Mboka Industrial Company is to produce premium cement
and affordable construction materials.
He added
that the Company equally aims at providing over 900 decent jobs to
Cameroonians, irrespective of their background or gender.
He stated
that the Company will invest in Local Community Projects as part of their
Corporate Social Responsibility to the community in which they operate.
Dr.
Beyongo lauded the Government's effort in ensuring that Mboka Cement Plant goes
operational.
He told
the Reporters that the Company has been operating for about Nine Months and
highlighted some of the great strides made so far.
These
include the signing of a Contract with the German Company Pfeiffer which allows
them to build the Cement Plant for Mboka, the securing of 5 hectares of land
from MAGZI Ombe to build the Cement Plant and the signing of a Convention with
the Government of Cameroon amongst others.
Great Press Relations
On their
part, the Journalists sought to know if the General Manager of Mboka will
establish a lasting relationship with them.
Responding
to their worry, Dr. Beyongo told them that he wants to establish a candid
relationship with Journalists based on integrity.
He equally
advocated a win-win relationship with them.
The
General Manager promised to update the Journalists on the different phases of
the evolution as well as sending them updates on happenings in the Company
including some of the challenges faced and that the Management of Mboka will be
open to suggestions from them.
He urged
the Gentlemen of the Press to factcheck all the information which they will be
publishing concerning Mboka because they will be welcomed in the Company
anytime for verifications or further updates.
At the
end, the General Manager thanked all the Journalists present as he also
communed with them.
