CEYOFE Builds Capacities Of Young Peacemakers

  By Constance Mbongo The Centre for Youth and Family Empowerment (CEYOFE) in partnership U.S State department have ended a 2-day training for   30 youth leaders and activists of civil society organizations across Fako Division in the South West Region on peace building and peacemaking. After an intensive two day capacity building workshop from February 24-25, 2021, the youths have left with a determination to continue pressing for peace. Themed “Building Peacemakers for peace”, the workshop to foster youths participation in peace building processes took place at the Cameroon Cultural Centre, Bongo Square, Buea. According to Stella Dopgima, vision bearer and team lead of CEYOFE, the project aimed at empowering Youth to build resilience against violent extremism trough amplification of narratives that are supportive of peace and tolerance among peers. SONARA Corporate Social Responsibility Component Buoyant In Trying Times

                     SONARA GM By Tarhyang Enowbikah Tabe Despite the fire incident of May 31, 2019 that hit the lone oil refining company in Cameroon, SONARA, the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility component is still buoyant. The company has been carrying out community projects in the surrounding villages as part of its corporate social responsibility viz a viz its hosts environs. SONARA has constructed two modern water borehole projects within the community of Mukundange and the Limbola Health Centre, Limbe II Subdivision and two toilets, one at the Ngeme Market (Limbe II) and one at the Dikolo village within the Limbe III community. The water projects that have been done   so far stands   at the cost of over FCFA 20 million while the toilets are at FCFA 10 million, all funded by SONARA for the benefit of these communities. On 06th February, 2021 the world remembers the victims and practitioners of FGM and the role of governments and other stakeholders in ending this hideous practice. FGM is a global issue and there are girls and women living with FGM in all regions of the world. FGM is a great violation of the human rights of women and girls and has no medical justification. There is an urgent need for change in our approach to this practice that renders women hopeless and mere sex objects or baby making machines. There is a need to boost efforts to eliminate FGM and to provide the best healthcare services to victims. Governments should identify FGM victims and treat them effectively. This role is not only limited to governments but also to practising communities, families, victims and perpetrators, the medical corp and other stakeholders. Everyone has a role to play. Chief Fonderson Awards Certificates, Equipment To MEVCUDA 2020 Participating Farmers

The event was held at the Limbe I  Council Hall. NAWCED Empowers Women, Orphans Towards Financial Independence

  By SHING TIMOTHY The Limbe based Ngore Africa Centre for Women Empowerment and Development, NAWCED has officially kick started a one month training of women, young girls and orphans with the goal to empower them with life changing skills. The goal of the training according to the CEO, Abunaw Olive was to empower women with skills to stay independent.“This is training for development, because most women in Cameroon are abused because they don’t have the means to support themselves. So this training is to help women with basic skills so that they can empower themselves to gain financial freedom. We are giving the women skills on how to grow their businesses since most of them are small business owners”. The one month training started on the Wednesday 19 January and will finish on the 19 February 2021,at the head office of NAWCED in Limbe. The graduation was as a result of the partnership signed by King Black and the Association of Business Executives in January 2020. 59 trainees in the various   categories   of Secretaries, Business Technology   and also some other trainees thanks to the partnership created with ABE- UK   in Project Management and Human Resource were the grandaunts who took certificates during the graduation ceremony that took place on Friday the 22nd of January, 2021 at the Limbe Botanic Garden. CAMP Restructures, Extends To Other Regions

This follows a Board Meeting of the Association that took place on January 15, 2021. The Board decided the association be expanded to other Regions and to give it more national impact. To this end, Regional Representatives were appointed as follows; For South West, Yuh Innocent, Littoral, Scholar Maloke, Centre Region, Roland Mbonteh and Grand West Region, Gerald Ngeh. As part of the restructuring process, the Board created a Directorate to supervise the activities of the executive committee.
